Lu Qiang and Jiang Yuyan were looking at each other; just then, the butler arrived with a wooden box. It was the same box that Lu Qiang had with him for so many years, which treasured his memories with Jiang Yayan, and he prepared it as a birthday gift in the middle of the night.

Putting the box on the table in the gallery, the butler left.

Lu Qiang stepped towards the table, picked up that box, and returned to his place to stand in front of Jiang Yuyan.

He passed that box to her as he informed, "This is for you."

Receiving the old wooden box, she asked, "What is this?"

"Something that I treasured a lot and something that you will like," Lu Qiang commented, and Jiang Yuyan raised her eyebrows, feeling curious.

Jiang Yuyan opened the box and saw a few things that looked familiar to her but couldn't understand. Feeling puzzled, she looked at Lu Qiang to get the answer, but he didn't tell her.

"Let me hold this box," Lu Qiang held the box so that Jiang Yuyan could properly check the stuff inside.

Jiang Yuyan went through the stuff one by one and felt surprised to see what was inside and realized those things were from their childhood.

She took out a few handmade greeting cards, went through them, and smiled brightly.

"These are made by me."

"Yes!"

She took out the tiny paper toys which had their names written on it and exclaimed with the happiness, "I remember, you taught me how to make this. See, this one has my name, and it was made by me too."

"Yes!"

Lu Qiang was just smiling as he was happy seeing her excited and content like this. He was busy admiring her, and she was busy going through the stuff in the box one by one.

She pulled out the tiny football keychain and held it in her hands as she asked, looking into his eyes, "You still have it with you?"

"How can I lose it?" he replied.

"I bought it as your birthday gift," she informed.

"That's why it's still with me," Lu Qiang commented.

Feeling excited to see more things from her childhood, she pulled out the photographs from the box and smiled ear to ear like a child while going through them.

After returning to China, it was the first time when Lu Qiang saw her smiling so widely and even showing her teeth. Her eyes looked like an inverted crescent moon, almost covering her eyeballs because of her thick eyelashes. He missed seeing her laughing and her giggling and wished to see it soon.

Jiang Yuyan took her time going through those photographs, remembering her old memories as her happy childhood flashed in front of her eyes again. She was smiling, but her eyes turned moist after remembering those beautiful days.

"I missed those days. I missed our childhood, and I missed you too," Jiang Yuyan said in a solemn voice as the tears rolled down her eyes.

Shading tears, she continued going through the photographs in her hands with her head lowered down.

Lu Qiang noticed her heavy voice and her tears. Her last words touched his heart as he didn't expect her to say it ever. He was sure that she had forgotten him and her memories with him completely.

Putting the box in his hands on the small pillar at a crossing angle of the railing, Lu Qiang called her name, "Yuyan."

With her teary eyes, she looked at him. She wished to stop her tears, but she couldn't.

As she looked at him, Lu Qiang cupped her face in his palms, wiped her tears with his thumbs, and calmly said, "We can make up for those missing days."

Jiang Yuyan could see how much he cared for her and then asked in a choked voice, "H-How?"

Lu Qiang smiled as he caressed her cheeks, "Leave it to me," and looked at the photographs in her hands and put forward his hand to get it from her.

Jiang Yuyan passed those photos to him. Accepting them, Lu Qiang pulled out two photographs and put the remainings back in the box.

Showed her one photograph, he asked, "Do you remember when we clicked this one?"

It was a picture of that day when Lu Qiang promised to marry her.

She looked at it and nodded, "Hmm!"

He then took out another photo and asked, "And this one?"

It was a picture of their last meeting at the airport before she departed from China.

She nodded again, "Hmm!'

Putting those photographs back in the box, Lu Qiang asked, "Do you remember those promises too?"

Jiang Yuyan hesitated to answer this question because she knew what those promises were? And what did they mean at this moment? Lowering down her head, she chose to keep quiet.

"But I remember every word, and all these years, I only thought to fulfill my promises," Lu Qiang informed, that showed how determined he was.

Not knowing how to react, Jiang Yuyan stood frozen in her place. She knew what would come next, but she was not prepared for it. Her heart was already beating faster as she clutched her dress.

Lu Qiang called her again, "Yuyan!"

Whenever he called her name, she felt his voice touch her heart and found it pleasant hearing her name in his voice. She looked at him just to see his eyes filled with love and warmth for her, and she could feel it clearly.

"I love you, Yuyan."

Hearing his confession, her heart was ready to jump out of her chest as she was overwhelmed with so many things and her mind was in a mess.

She wanted to hear those three words from him, but at the same time, she didn't want to accept it. The fear in her heart from her past couldn't let her move ahead.

'Lu Qiang! I..can't…..' She wanted to say something, but her voice choked in her throat.
