I Hate Systems

290 What Have You Planned This time?

A turbine spun in one spot, creating a suction in a tube that allowed the nutrient solution within the Vitality Bowl to travel through it and into a large container that he had solidified using the trait of Permanence.

The container had a capacity of 1000 litres that he filled to the brim, sealed perfectly, and stored within his Dimensional Space. This was to have enough spare rations during times of necessity. He stored both food and water in sufficient quantities, enough to replenish as much of his Haggon's needs as necessary.

Even though he no longer needed to eat to replenish his Darlac, there was still Golda. It would be able to generate Mental Energy by eating food. So, he was also saving for it.

Three days passed in such a manner as he stored enough necessities in the Dimensional Storage, also practicing all his abilities until he got used to them. He was especially content with the three-horned man's ability, one that he termed the Dust Wave.

When activated, the ability materialised as a form of contact lenses on his eyes, allowing him to see a coloured smoke billowing out of his body.

This smoke was like an extension of his body, moving anywhere he wished. After some observation, he motioned for it to attack the ground. And the scene that happened next caused him to be gobsmacked as the layer of soil rapidly began to diminish as a crater formed, quickly increasing in depth.

He hurriedly condensed a pair of massive fans and blew away the fine dust that was produced as a result.

The Dust Wave was an ability that seemed as if it was a cloud-like organism that was capable of eating through anything. Though in actuality, it was undetectable to the naked eye and consisted of dust-sizes burst element particles that exploded upon contact with the target, destroying it from a microscopic scale.

And, he could form a tide with this, depending on the amount of Mental Energy he expended.

After obtaining his third Personal Fragment, the quantity of Mental Energy he had was shown in units, the same that was used by the Systems, giving him a clear idea of how much his opponents possessed.

Moreover, he too now possessed the same protection as his foes thanks to being able to wield Mental Energy directly—the ability to avoid instant-death scenarios.

With all his preparations complete, he condensed a pair of wings and took flight. He still hadn't come up with a plan to face the Elf, but he decided to first target the other Systems.

That way, by obtaining their Core Skills, he would be able to strengthen himself better. This was the only feasible plan of action.

Moreover, irrespective of what he used, he had to hinder the Elf by at least making a bunch of System Hosts target it.

As to how he planned to do that, he had already begun preparations. Grisha and the ant queen moved as a team, completing everything he had tasked them with.

Thanks to her Vitality Bowl, the ants had an unending supply of food, having exploded in numbers long since. They targeted mutated beasts, using the body parts for various things that Grisha had accumulated knowledge about in the previous loops.

Meanwhile, Shyvern and his group had arrived within an apartment building as he dragged Chenger with him and placed her in a room. As she was gagged and bound, she wasn't able to commit suicide even if she wished to do so.

"Now, now! You can't leave us so easily, right?" Laughing in response, Shyvern materialised a screen, showing the scene of Rhizen and 'Chenger' displaying great sync between one another as they hunted a mutated beast.

Upon seeing such a harmonious scene, Chenger wished to cough up blood, lacking the strength to even scream, having already done it enough times until her throat hurt.

"Have you pondered about what I asked you last time?" Shyvern grinned, bringing a long mirror from the nearby room, showing her reflection to her.

Chenger instantly averted her gaze, unable to bear seeing her messed up appearance. But suddenly, a mysterious force turned her head, allowing her to stare at her reflection.

She desperately tried to close her eyes but noticed that they didn't listen to her, staring wide-eyed at the reflection. She was forced to see what her figure had been reduced to, something she was unable to endure, tearing up, "Why…why are you torturing me like this? Just kill me…"

"Dear Chenger, killing you is simple. But you see…" Shyvern spoke slowly, sporting an expression of nostalgia, "The one I hate is Rhizen, you see. I want him to suffer the maximum. But you see…"

He sighed with a melancholic tone, "There is a limit to the physical pain a human body can handle. Beyond that, the brain would kill the signals to turn off the pain receptors. See, even when I poured acid on your face, you only writhed in pain for a couple of hours. Beyond that, your body turned numb."

As he continued to talk, Chenger's face paled further, "But, the depth one could attain with mental pain is on a whole other level. I've been living these days only to kill Rhizen. I am living, breathing, and dying to see Rhizen again, just to torment him."

"He cares about you a lot," He smirked, saying, "To be frank, he cares about you more than he does himself. So, what do you think would happen when I relay all your sufferings to him?"

"Stop…please…I beg you…" Even though she was gagged, Chenger barely managed to articulate her words.

"Nope," Shyvern said before turning around, gazing at his accomplice, "Ensure she doesn't die."

"With me around, it'll be impossible for her to die." The lady smirked before casually taking a seat nearby, taking out a phone before she began to play a game.

Having done with his little speech to rile up Chenger, Shyvern exited the room, content as he arrived at the terrace of the building, stating mentally, 'System, display Chenger's Despair.'

<Ding!>

[Chenger's Despair is at 73%]

"Still only at 73 percent…" He muttered, "It seems I have to rile her up further until I reach the maximum."

"Sounds interesting." Upon hearing a foreign voice all of a sudden, Shyvern jumped back in alarm, watching the Elf appear nearby, as if it had teleported, smiling, "What have you planned this time, Shyvern?"
